Banks meets his Cousins

On Sunday, the Butler family came to Birmingham to see Banks. Georgia Anne, Jack, and Daniel were very excited to see their cousin and I was excited to see their reaction. Georgia was more exited to see me, Jack was a little stand offish, but later warmed up, and Daniel was full steam ahead! He loved Banks and would have held him the entire time if we would have let him. I can't wait for Banks to get a little older so they can really play together. We have some fun times ahead.

Daniel could not WAIT to hold the baby. He kept holding his hands out and begging to hold the baby. It was so cute and he gentle with him....for the most part!

Michael introduced Banks to the boys.

That Pillow Never Looked So Good!

Banks really likes to be wrapped up in the swaddle and I must say, he looks so cute. I Last night, I just laid him down to get something an I looked over and he was wide awake looking at us.....and of course, I took a picture!

Going Home

After a great week in the hospital, we were all set to bring Banks home on Saturday morning. I had mixed emotions about leaving the hospital. On one hand, I was so ready and excited to bring him home, but on the other hand, I was so sad to leave. I LOVED the hospital. I had the best experience at St. Vincent's and the nurses were so wonderful. I felt like Banks and I got the best care and so I was scared to leave. Needless to say, we came home and so far, it has been great. Banks is such an easy going baby and does not give us any trouble. Let's hope it stays that way!

Me getting him all dressed in his best for the ride home. He did not like me changing his clothes.

Banks Irby Johnston

Introducing our sweet baby boy, Banks Irby Johnston. Banks arrived on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 1:06 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 20 inches long. He is so sweet and of course, I think he is the cutest baby ever. He has already changed our lives and Bryan and I love him more than words can say. I will post many more pics later as time permits.

Nursery is Finished!

I am so excited to show the finished nursery! Leigh Anne, Mom, Jack and Daniel came up today while the rest of the fam was in Tuscaloosa and we put the finishing touches on the nursery. Leigh Anne painted the 3 paintings over the bed and they look so good! I feel great about the room and just need a baby to occupy it! I have 2 weeks at the MOST. It seems so crazy to say that but he really could be here any day now.

I am afraid to admit, Yes, we did!

After about 2 years of Bryan wanting a recliner, I finally agreed to get one. Tara, who has her own leather recliner, convinced me that when the baby gets here, I will be so glad I have it for rocking and lounging with the baby. It just makes me laugh but I have to admit, it is SO comfortable! Okay followers, my question is....Does having a recliner make you a redneck or does it mean we are getting older? Ha!!
