Banks' School Picture

Here is Banks' school picture taken in September. He was 10 months old in this picture. He is in the Infant II class at Canterbury United Methodist (where we go to church) and we love it there. The teachers are WONDERFUL and he is very happy. I hate I have to leave him there everyday but it won't be long before I can stay home with him. Anyways, I thought the picture was cute and I wanted to share. Pics from his class Halloween Party coming soon.

Kayse and Parker's Wedding Weekend

Our nice weekend away started on Friday afternoon with a visit with Sima and her new baby boy! Baby Aakash was born 4 weeks ago and is just perfect. It was great to meet him and get to play with Surya for a bit.

Then, we headed to Covington, Georgia for the wedding of Bryan's cousin, Parker Burke, and Kayse Nelson. They decided to have the entire wedding weekend at Burge Plantation, a hunting/shooting club outside of Atlanta, where we usually spend Thanksgiving.

The wedding party arrived at the dinner on Friday night via Hay Ride.

Parker and Kayse had so many friends and family that said the sweetest and funniest toasts and afterwards, they had a chance to speak. They are such a lovely couple!

On Saturday morning, we all headed over to Spike and Cathy Wahlen's AMAZING home at Burge for a delicious, mouth watering lunch of fresh, local fried catfish and chicken salad with all of the fixins'. Did I mention this home was featured in an 8 page spread in Veranda Magazine last Spring?

Then, it was off to the wedding. The weather was PERFECT! I do not think Parker and Kayse could have asked for better weather for an outdoor fall wedding.

We all had to pose in front of the carriage.

Okay, next to the band. They were awesome! So much fun and full of spunk. Purple suits and all. The children were the first ones to dance and boy, did they bring it. Look at 2 of Bryan's cousins, Liam and Grace, doing all of the right moves.

It would not have been a Burke function without the traditional "sing-a-long".

We just have the best time and it was so great to see the Irby side of the family, as usual. They are such a close and loving family and I love them so much. This family keeps growing and growing and the only question we all had over the weekend is "who is next?"

Tallassee Time

While Bryan and I were in Atlanta enjoying some much needed time alone, Banks was hanging out in Tallassee with his cousins and Aunt Leigh Leigh, Uncle Michael, Nana, and Papa.

And Leigh Leigh too! To say that Banks enjoys being at the Butler house is an understatement. I mean, can you blame him? He has CONSTANT and very lively entertainment.

Best quote of the day. When we got home to get Banks my Mom said "I bet you can tell that he has changed in the few days you were gone." And to that Michael replied, "After the 2 days he had with us, I am sure he is!" HA!

If he was watching these 3 monkeys at all.....chances are he will be!

Everyone had fun and Bryan and I would not have been able to go without all of you help. Thanks again Mama and Leigh Anne.

Banks' First Football Game

Yesterday, we headed over to Starkville for the MSU/South Carolina game. It was a special day because it was the first football experience for Banks. I hate that we had to drive straight through Tuscaloosa, but the Tide was out of town so Starkville was just fine. It was a beautiful day for football and tailgating. Banks was a trooper and received an "A" for his behavior for the entire day. (Remember, the McCaig family has a long standing tradition for "grading" the children, as a joke, for their behavior at restaurants and outings.)

He LOVED hanging out at the tailgate and showing off his new tooth!

COWBELLS started ringing!!!! Oh they scared my little sir so badly... boo hoo!

SO, after about 30 minutes, it was time for Banks to join Weejie and Susan for the afternoon at the tent. He had such a great time hanging with Wej and getting so much attention.

After the game, I stopped by the bookstore and got Banks his first cowbell. Needless to say, he knew exactly what to do with it. So stinkin' cute!

Disclaimer: On Nov 12, Banks will not be allowed to ring it. He will be given a Crimson and White shaker.

Not only did he like to ring it...true to form, he liked to chew on it too.

What a fun weekend. I hated that the Dawgs were not able to pull out the "W" but we had a great time anyway.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Pumpkin Patch in Calera on Sunday afternoon with Tara and Robby and Cary Cherry and her girls. We had the best time!

The train ride to the Pumpkin Patch was so much fun!

When we arrived, the kids had a great time in the bounce house, hay ride, maze, and just running around. Banks was taking it all in for next year.

The Hendrix pic is hilarious. Nic would did not want to have his photo made, but at the last minute decided that peeking through the wagon wheel might not be so bad.
