Banks' Baptism

On Sunday, March 20, 2011, Banks was Baptized at Canterbury United Methodist Church. It was such a special day for us, as we had many many members of our family in attendance for this momentous day in Banks' life. During the Baptism, I teared up just thinking about how much God has blessed us this year and how much we will strive as parents to raise him to know and love God. Banks is a blessing to our entire family and we are so very grateful for his life and health.

Bryan and I getting Banks ready for the big day. It got off to a bit of a rough start, since we had to wake the Sir up from his nap, but he calmed down after a bottle and was a perfect angel during the service.

After the Service, we all headed up the The Club for a luncheon. It was nice to visit and have our family all together.

4 Months Old

My sweet little Banks is 4 months old today. We went to the doctor this afternoon and here are his stats. 15 pounds, 5 ounces (75%) and 26 1/4 inches long (90%).

Poor Banks, he has a cough, wheezing, and another ear infection. He got a new anti-biotic that will hopefully clear it up soon. He did not have a fever, so he got his 4 month shots. He was a tough little guy. He only made a sad face during the last shot. What a trooper! Dr. Dennis wants to hold out of solid food for a while since he is doing well and gaining weight without it.

At 4 months, Banks can roll over, hold his head up pretty well, and hold his paci in his hand and get it out of his mouth. He can't quite get it back into his mouth yet, but he tries really hard. He still loves his bath and has discovered how to splash. It is so cute but very messy on us. He smiles and coos and is very alert theses days. He still goes to bed around 6:30 p.m. and we wake him up at 10:00 to feed him. In general, he does very well until about 6:00 a.m. but he still gets up about every other night and wants to be soothed or have a couple of ounces of his bottle. All in all, he is a very good baby and he is the light of my life. What did I ever do without him?

Here come the Butlers

My Sister's kids have been on Spring Break this week so today, I took the day off so Banks and I could enjoy the day with them.
Georgie and Jack talking to Banks. Banks did not know what to think of all of the action. He was probably in shock because all his classmates pretty much do the same thing he does..just sit, look, smile, and play. The Butler kids broke him in real good today! Poor Banks!

To say the kids love to bust out of the pillows on my bed is an understatement. Georgia walked in the door and asked "Toe Toe, did you make the bed so I can bust out?" and Jack ran in there and jumped on the bed and asked "Toe Toe, will you bury me?" The pictures are blurry because they bust out at such high speeds, I can't get a good shot of it. Needless to say, it is so funny!
So next we were off to try to snap some pictures of the 4 kids together. That is NOT easy for those of you who have tried it. It is always difficult because there is always......
someone who is being a stinker,
someone who is not happy....or looking at the camera,
someone who is being shy,
someone who is being wild,
someone who is crying,
and someone who is just not having it!
BUT, in the end there are always a few really good ones...even though they are not "perfect"poses, they are real and that is how these precious children look and I wouldn't have it any other way.

A Terrific Saturday

When the weather is as perfect as it was today, how can the day not be great? Today was one of those days. It started out with me going to weigh in and I had lost another pound! I was worried since I had lost 4 pounds last week AND indulged in 2 big yummy meals this week, but it turned out ok. Then, we headed to Lendon Baugh's 2nd birthday party at Overton Park. It was a GREAT party and Lauren had everything looking cute for his Firetruck theme. The weather was SO ideal. It was sunny and about 75 degrees and everyone was out at the park playing and enjoying the day.

The party was SO much fun and exciting....this little Sir was exhausted.
So after a good nap, this is how he woke up........ SMILING AND SMILING!

Then, after Banks had his bath and bottle and went to bed...
I made dinner for us and we ate on the porch and continued to enjoy the great weather. I am thankful for friends, health, good weather, and most of all, my family. Have a great week everyone!
