Guest Bedroom Updates

Remember this?

My guest bedroom was just the room that was so blah.

I have been trying to update it a bit and have made some progress.

I still have a lot to do, but I have to take a break from it until after Christmas.

Here it is today:

October So Far

October has been a fun and busy month and some of the most fun is yet to come!  Halloween will be a separate post, but here is a little of what has been going on over here.

Bryan is on cloud nine about the MSU Bulldogs.   He got to meet sweet Lyla last week at the Auburn game.

Banks is still obsessed with digging!  I have resorted to grouting my patio to try to stop the madness!

Soccer continues.  Here Banks is pictured with Coach Gracie and his teammates.

Banks looked SO cute for picture day at school.

Cousin Daniel spent the night last Friday and we had an absolute blast.

The next day, we took the boys to the Pumpkin Patch.

Banks has discovered Play Dough.  It provides hours of entertainment.

Tallassee High School 20 Year Homecoming

Last weekend, the Tallassee High School Class of '95 was honored at Homecoming.

Tallassee is known for doing a BIG homecoming full of fun events for the Seniors and the Alumni.

It all started on Thursday night at the candle lighting and bonfire at THS.   I was glad to see my best friends that I keep up with and even more excited to see those whom I don't necessarily see a lot.

The bon fire was BLAZING...and that is not what we needed in 85 degree fall weather, but it was fun anyway.

I am always super pumped to see these two best buds, Jarrod and Scott.

After the bon fire, we headed into the THS gym to practice for the pep rally.  Now, it may seem silly to practice for a pep rally when you are "old", but let me tell you, this is not your average pep rally.  Our class leads the entire thing and everyone has a part.

Our class dance was done to a compilation of "bootie" music from the years 1994-1996 and it was  BEYOND HILARIOUS!  I seriously can't say in words how funny it was.

The powder puff fellas did a cheer and even did their pyramid.  They've still got it.

The next day, we all got to the school early for the pep rally, which began at 8:10 a.m.

My brother-in-law, Michael, was there doing the radio coverage and live streaming it on Tallassee Times TV.

Here we come!  The BIG entrance!

Our class dance was SO fun and it got a little wild.

The faculty hit the floor next to break it down with some of us.   They performed to a mix of "oldies" and finished with the YMCA.

Mr. C, one of my favorite people from growing up in Tallassee did the robot and was awesome.

Tara did a cheer.  G-g-g-g-get On UP!

The flags and majorettes did a little performance.

The last item on the agenda was a "dance off" between members of the Class of '95 and kids currently enrolled at THS.  The music was "Tricky" by Run DMC and the dancing was out of control funny.  I was having to massage my face because my cheeks were hurting so bad.

Next was a tea held on the lawn of the school, which was a great opportunity to catch up with some of our former teacher.  Gotta love a small town!

After a class lunch at the local mexican restaurant, we hit the float to ride in the Homecoming Parade.  MORE FUN ahead!!!

Friday night, we had the football game and our class walked across the field together.

I loved seeing Jack and Daniel waving to me from the stands!

I was very sad to miss the party afterwards, as Banks had gotten sick.  I was feeling guilty about not being with him all day, so I headed back home.  I was told that the party was just so fun and got a little wild.  I really did have mixed emotions about going to my 20 year reunion, but I must say that I had more fun for those 2 days that I have had in years.....maybe even since my wedding.  There is something about laughing, dancing, chatting, and having fun with your friends that is hard to put into words...I guess that is why God created laughter, and boy did we do a lot of that this weekend.
