Banks Crocker?

I don't really know what has gotten in to me lately, but I have been doing more baking than usual.  I think it is for 2  3 reasons.  First, I have been on a kick to "clean out the pantry" by using our pantry ingredients as much as possible.  Secondly, I feel like we waste so much food and in an effort to save money and food, I have been going through my pantry and cooking what we have.  (Oh, and I am pregnant and clearly not on any diet)

So, that means that we have made pumpkin bread, corn bread, and yesterday we made a sour cream pound cake.  I usually bake 2 loaves and freeze one.

Anyway, Banks is a HUGE fan of helping and mixing.  Every time he sees me get a bowl out he runs over to the powder room and gets his stool so he can be at the right height to help mix.

Yesterday, we made a cream cheese pound cake and he was a big helper and a big fan of licking the beaters.    My Mom always let us lick the beaters and that is such a fond memory as a child.  I would be upstairs and when I would hear the mixer going, I run come down to help and the best part would be eating the cake batter.  yummy!

Notice Granny's bundt pan in the background.  We decided not to use it but it has had more cakes baked in it than could possibly be counted.

This Just Never Gets Old

Well folks, it's January here and you know what that means....time for Bama to win another National Championship.

This time, the whole family joined in on the fun.

My parents, Leigh Anne, and Michael went left on Saturday and enjoyed a few days in Miami.
I have been to Miami so many times for work and fun, I just decided to stay home and head down on Monday.

Monday night came fast and we headed to the stadium.  It was insane!  There were so many people (mostly over confident Notre Dame fans) outside and inside the stadium

We were pretty high up there, but we still had great seats.

They came out ready to whip some #@*$ and before we knew it , the score looked like......

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

This picture pretty much sums up the Notre Dame fans after about 4 minutes into the game.  It was GREAT!

They really outnumbered us and they honestly thought they were going to win.

It was a great game and trip.  I never thought it could be better than last year's win against LSU but this one was better!  The team just looked so tough, strong, fast, and played a near perfect game.

I watched the replay all week during Banks' nap and my favorite quote of the game.

During the half time show, the game day guys were trying to come up with very nice and politically correct explanations for Notre Dame's pathetic 1st half....to which Desmond Howard simply replied

"This is just a good ole fashioned butt whipping"

SO TRUE!!!

Georgia Anne turns 9....and celebrates ALL week!

Georgia turned 9 on January 9th and has literally celebrated all week long!  On her Birthday, she went bowling, to dinner, and got to pick out a new bike.

On Saturday, I took her over to Atlanta to go to the American Girl store.

Kit and McKenna came too, of course.

Georgia was such a sport in the morning, going to both markets at Scott's but after lunch it was all about this place.

We cracked up at all of the dolls getting their hair done.

She was very careful to read the boxes and make her decisions wisely as to how she would spend her money.

After Georgia got her goodies, we went over to the Bistro for dessert.

Kit and McKenna had their very own seat.

Georgie got the 3 mini ice cream cones.

We had a great "girls day" and she was such a grown up little girl.

Georgia decided back in December that her party would be an "Alabama Celebration Party".

She was obviously confident that the Tide would pull off another National Championship.

Lucky for her, she was right and the party was so cute.

Leigh Anne had it at the local dance and gymnastics studio; a large room fully equipped with tumbling mats, balance beams, and a trampoline.

Daniel and Nana

Banks did not make it, as it was right in the middle of his nap, and I must say I am glad he did not go.  Big kids can play rough!

Happy Birthday Georgia Anne!

Happy Birthday Weejie!

Today, January 6 is Weejie's (Big Dawg's) 65th Birthday.

Bryan was able to see him today before he left Vicksburg and wish him a Happy Birthday.

We hope you have a wonderful Birthday!
