Banks + Jar Meat = "NO"!

Well, this is a first for me. I have never posted a video on my blog, but tonight at dinner, Banks started doing his "no" for when he was full. He used to do it at about 6 months of age when we first started feeding him solids. He was not a fan of solid food at first and he did this a lot. Well tonight for the first time in months, he did it to me in response for ......BIG surprise.....Gerber Baby Food Meat.....possibly the most nasty food on the planet. Enjoy!

10 Months Old

My Baby is 10 Months Old and I can not believe it! Look at him enjoying his puffs.
I love to feed myself!
Yummy! They are so good and I am happy!
So let me clarify. Banks does not really love to feed himself. He just really loves to feed himself Puffs and Ritz Crackers. Everything else, he pretty much wants us to help him. But I think he is doing pretty good. We STILL do not have a tooth! We keep waiting and waiting but.....nothing.

Banks is growing and changing every day. He is moving all of the house very quickly. We really can not turn our back on him at all. He loves to laugh and grin at the silliest things. He still loves to swing and stroll as well as play with his blocks and toys. He can say "Ma-Ma" and "Ba Ba". We are working on Da Da every day.

He moved up to the Infant II Room at School and it is going great. I will post a picture of his teachers soon.

Banks is SLEEPING GREAT!!!!!! 6 to 6. It is wonderful for everyone because we are all rested!

He is a Joy Joy Joy and we are blessed more than words can say.

Lauren's Baby Shower

Sunday afternoon, we hosted a Baby Shower for Lauren Merrill and her baby girl. It was a beautiful day for a shower and everything was perfect.

I thought the table looked so pretty.

Our pretty Mom-to-Be enjoying some pink lemonade.

My friend, Anna Kate, let us borrow her adorable vintage baby bottles. They were a BIG hit with the guests.

I have to include a picture of Abbey Plant and Lauren. Abbey set Lauren and Cody up on a blind date almost 3 years ago and without her, none of this would have happened!

We played a game called "What's My Name". Lauren wanted to keep the name a secret until the shower so she could reveal it there. We placed scrabble letters in a bag and we got into groups to try to unscramble the letters to guess her name. As you can see, everyone was working hard.
It did not take this table long to get it right. Look how happy there are!!!!

And her name is.....

Lauren got some GREAT stuff.

Lauren with her family.

We can not wait to meet you baby Lydia!

Beach Trip

So, we took Banks to the beach for the first time over the weekend. We were so excited to finally arrive after a long drive down.
Banks was happy to get out of the car and into the fresh breeze!
We went ahead and took some family photos when we arrived. Based on looks of the photos, maybe we should have let the sun set a bit, but we had to get to dinner before our Sir had a melt down from being up past his 6:30 bedtime.

The next morning, we got out on the beach very early to enjoy the cool air. Banks took a nap and for once, did not need the sleep sheep or the noise machine.
He woke up very happy and ready to play.
We then decided to take him down to the water to see what his thoughts were on that....
...and he was not so sure!
Later that afternoon, he got brave and "left" the tent.
Still not sure of the sand...
He then came back to the tent.
Then left again....
Then came back and wanted Daddy to pick him up.
We took another family photo. Thank goodness for tri-pods and camera timers!
He was great at dinner for the second night in a row. World Record for Banks who at this time has usually been asleep for over a hour.
We headed back on Sunday after a day of shopping. It was a great trip. Banks was not a huge fan of the ocean or the sand, but we could not let the summer end without a trip down to the coast and now we are officially ready for fall.

Paul Bunyan

Bryan got a chain saw for his birthday in July and he has been chopping down trees like crazy. He has completely cleaned out our jungle in our backyard and is now moving on to other projects. Leigh Anne has been upset about this dead tree in her front yard for about a year, so when she asked Bryan to bring his chain saw last weekend....well let me just say, I did not have to twist his arm to do so.

These 2 little boys were very interested.

The fun part started when the tree was down. Jack and Daniel were really excited to help drag the limbs to the road.

Bryan with the finished product...the stump! So any of you who are in Birmingham, if you need a tree cut down, call us!

Mississippi State vs. Auburn

On Saturday, Bryan and I went to Auburn to the Mississippi State/Auburn game. We had high hopes that MSU would win, but as you all know, it did not turn out in our (Bryan's) favor. Needless to say, we had a great time with Robby and Tara.

All of us before going into the game

Tara and Me

This was Nate's first game. He was such an angel at the tailgate, just smiling and looking around at everything.

It was so nice to actually go to a football game. You know last year, I did not darken the grass of a tailgate since I was so pregnant and swollen during football season. It was our first football game to attend together in almost 2 years!

All Smiles

Banks was SO happy when he visited Aunt Leigh Leigh's house last week. She took these shots and I had to share.
