Not too much going on here....

August has been a slow month around here.  No school, no drug rep job making this mama a crazy lady, no out of town trips, etc.  We have just been getting acclimated to Montgomery and it is going much better.  We have met some very nice people and even went out with 4 other couples!

Needless to say, I have not taken many pictures but I did manage to snap a few of these events.

We went to the Buckmaster's Expo (well, I was along for the snooze fest....) but I did wake up and get excited when we got to see these gator catching guys.  (minus the random stranger)  Sorry, I did not feel like waiting in the LONG line with an unruly baby...so we crashed this guys photo session.

We went to visit Mamaw and Banks was very interested in her bowl of Hershey's kisses.

Mama and I drove by the new Hueytown High School on the way out of town.  Wow!  What a nice school!!!!

Today, Banks had his first day of Fall Mothers' Day Out.  Paci in tow, of course....I tell you, I can't pry that thing out of his mouth.  I am in for some real trouble when we have to say goodbye to that thing.

Banks loves his new teachers, Mrs. Mary and Mrs. Linda.  (and new friend, Connor)

I can't say I made this.  You know this is the work of Leigh Anne, of course.

She made this school supply cake for Banks' teachers.

We have a very busy September!  Trips to Dallas (Roll Tide!), Starkville (Go Dawgs) and the BEACH!   Also I have started violin lessons again and I am SO excited about that.  Updates to come.....

New Favorite Web Site

Forget Pinterest.....Ladies, if you like to accessorize and put outfits together, I have the web site for you.

I only dream about being as "put together" as the examples on this site, but one can dream.

When I first stumbled upon this site and after browsing for a while, I realized that I might have some items in my closet that I need to wear more and/or put together differently.

You will just get some great ideas hopefully.

Bookmark it gals, 'cause they update daily.

Anna Kate, you stylish thing, I must say, most of the outfits reminded me of you!!!

Always trying....

To get a decent family picture of the 3 of us....

But for some reason lately, our Sir has not wanted to cooperate.

He always wants "down, down".

So I tried to squeeze him close to me and Bryan turns at an awkward angle.....

ahhh...finally, a decent one.

Not the BEST, but at least it is decent.

20 Months

Today was a little overcast in Montgomery, so I decided to head out this afternoon and snap some pictures of Banks.

He is 20 months old.

He had good intentions of cooperating.....

...but would get distracted when he wanted to look for dirt....

...or airplanes...

 ...and more airplanes...

...but they really captured how silly he really is!  What a cutie (in my opinion).

Haircut and Hoops

.
Last week, Banks got his second haircut.  Just as expected, he was not too thrilled about it.  Not even a sucker could make him happy.

Luckily, Kathy was very quick and we were on our way.

Today, we were at Toys "r" Us and I picked up a basketball goal for Banks.  He always loves them when he can play with one.

He was very interested in helping Bryan put it together.

and was very proud of himself every time he (and Daddy) scored.

Thoughts at the Moment

I know so much of my blog documents happy, fun, friends, and cheerful memories.  Those of the times we want to remember, right?  Exactly.  Well, those wonderful memories are exactly what has me so sad these days.  It's not that Montgomery is bad, it is just Birmingham was so good.

So Good.

I just find myself so lost some days just trying to wrap my mind around leaving my entire life for the past 17 years behind.

I miss Canterbury.

I miss our Sunday School class, Dr. Morgan's preaching, and the "comfort" of knowing almost every face.

I miss working.

I miss interacting with people all day.

I miss my work partner and friend, Fleming.

I miss MY Publix on Overton Road, where I knew exactly which isle every food item was on and I knew the cashiers and sweet fellas that would help me to my car.

I miss whipping by my favorite store every week just to "see what is new".

I miss my dear friends in Birmingham.

I miss Overton Park.

I GREATLY miss Canterbury Child Development Center and talking to this dear friend every day.
The absolute favorite part of my day was walking to Banks' classroom and picking up my Sir and then having a 10-15 minute conversation with Jasmin.

I miss my Bunko Group.

I miss Westbury Way and the beautiful hills of Mt. Brook.

And last but not least, I miss my Basil so much it hurts.

I know it will get better, but for right now, that is what I am feeling.
