Banks' First Playdate

Ashley Jones invited us to come down to her house today for a little play time/girl time. Lauren Baugh came too and it was great to get together with some girls. Lauren, Ashley and I met the first day of work at Lilly and have been friends ever since. Banks had a good time in a new environment. He especially loved playing with Barrett's play gym. It was so cute to see how excited he got over a new toy. He loves his play mat here at home and gets on it every day, but Barrett's was so different and he loved it. As we were leaving, Barrett and Banks were "saying good-bye" and Banks was smiling at Barrett. It was SO cute! Thanks Ashley for having us over!

2 Month Stats

I took Banks for his 2 month check up yesterday and he is doing great. He weighed 11 pounds 14 ounces and was 23 1/2 inches long. Growing, growing, growing!

Banks' First trip to Church

Today we took Banks to Canterbury for the first time. It was so special to get ready for church for the first time as a family of three! I had fun getting Banks dressed up in his special clothes and loved to finally have an excuse to let him wear his bunny booties from Tara. Our family has a long standing history of "grading" the children when we go on public outings such as restaurants, movies, parties, or church. Today, Banks received an A. He did not make a peep during church but he did not receive the A+ due to the fact that I to give him a bottle towards the end of the service and had to get him out during the last hymn. But still, we had a completely silent baby and very happy parents!

1 Rat is Better than 12

Well, we knew it was coming......the day that Jerry, our loyal Cooks rep, would find a rat in our attic. Remember this time last year we had killed 12, so this one is not that big of a deal. "She" was pretty big, as Jerry said she was about to have a baby...yuk..so I guess this one could have been two...or more. Glad she walked her way to her death before the delivery! Good thing Jerry reset the trap and let's hope we don't have anymore. Gotta love living in an "established" neighborhood.

Saturday Morning and a VERY Cute Baby

Banks woke up from his morning nap in the best mood! Bryan was holding him and we were talking to him and singing Patty Cake to him and he started smiling and cooing at us. It was so sweet! I grabbed the camera and snapped a few very quick shots of this cutie.

Banks is 8 weeks old!!!

Today, Banks is 8 weeks old and I can hardly believe it. It really just seems like yesterday that I was in the hospital with this tiny baby. He is really coming to life! This past week, he started smiling and cooing and tracking toys with his eyes. He loves to look at his toys and his mobile in his crib. He likes to swing, but only side to side and he still loves to ride in the car. He has started to like his bath and likes the warm water flowing over his skin and head. He still hates when we put lotion on him though. I just am really loving watching all of the new things he does. It is so much fun!

Georgia Anne's 7th Birthday Party

Today, January 9th, is Georgie's 7th birthday. Banks and I were in Tallassee this weekend while Bryan went hunting and it just so happened that I was able to go to Georgia Anne's "Barbie and Cookie Decorating" themed party. She invited 7 little girls over and they had pizza, a cookie cake, and decorated cookies. Leigh Anne, as usual, had everything looking perfect and the girls had so much fun. Georgia Anne loves to be the center of attention so she had a blast too. I got so tickled at her friends doting on her...."Happy Birthday Georgia", "Georgia, you look so pretty", "Georgia, I love your room", "Georgia Anne, I love your head band", and so on......Sweet little Georgie....ate every bit of it up. Her friends are so sweet and you can tell that they love her....how could you not? She is such a sweetie and so FUNNY and witty. I just love her to pieces and love watching her grow.
