15 Month Check-Up

Banks had his 15 month check-up on Friday and even though he had been sick all week, he was fever free and able to have his check-up. He had a rough time with the shots and was completely heart broken. He was looking up at my like "why are you letting them do this to me?" It broke my heart too! Thankfully, he recovered quickly.

Here are his stats:

Weight: 22 pounds, 6 ounces (25 %)
Height: 31 3/4" (75%)
Head Circumference: 18 1/2" (50%)

The Lion King

This morning, we were ready for church, but I could sense that my little Sir did not feel good, so we stayed in and snuggled. I had recorded The Lion King about a week ago when I saw it was going to be on Disney, so I decided that we would watch it.

I HAD FORGOTTEN HOW GOOD THIS MOVIE IS!

Oh my goodness, I enjoyed it way more than Banks! It just made me happy. I have been singing the songs all day.

Now I am on a mission to see it on Broadway. I can not find a traveling show coming anywhere close in the near future, so Margot, we will have to go see it next time we visit!!!

New Pictures!

Here are a few of the pictures that Mary Catherine took on Saturday. I thought they ALL turned out so well. It is going to be hard to decide on one or two to order. Here are a few of my favorites.

Is it me, or is this just the sweetest little face?

Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day!

We enjoyed it and here is how we celebrated.

Over the weekend, we went to Montgomery to have some pictures made of Banks (he is almost 15 months old). Mary Catherine, my best bud from College, is a very talented photographer and she took some GREAT shots of Banks, despite the frigid temps. If you would like to view the proofs on her site, click HERE Go to "proofing " and the password is "tori"

We got home Saturday afternoon, just in time for our babysitter to arrive and Bryan and I ate HERE and went and heard THIS GROUP perform. They performed the music of The Eagles and had this great singing group do the songs. It was great!!!

Monday night, I put together some Valentines treats for the children in Banks' class.

Bryan surprised me with these new TB sandals! Whoo-hoo!!!

....and flowers....

We stayed in on Tuesday night and made dinner. We did a large fillet and split it 1/4 to 3/4. I have been cutting back some so I did not think I could justify an entire fillet on a Tuesday night.

I made my favorite "go to" salad. It is delicious and so easy.

You will need:
1 container arugula
1 lemon
Olive Oil
Shaved Parmesan cheese
salt and pepper

To make the dressing, use 1 part lemon to 2 parts olive oil. For example, I used 2 TBS fresh lemon juice and 4 TBS olive oil. Then add a pinch of salt and pepper. Shake in a covered bowl. It should look creamy.

Toss with the arugula and add a generous amount of the shaved parm.

First Haircut

How can it be that those curls on my baby boy have grown so long that everyone thinks he is a girl?

Well, they apparently have.

Today, Bryan and I took Banks to the barber shop for a trim.

At first, Banks got up in the chair and was okay with it. I still can't believe my baby was sitting in a barber shop chair! Oh at the cuteness!

He had to "buckle" him in.

And it all went down hill after he put the smock on him.

......so, the smock came off.

Bryan was in charge of video. I was taking pictures and trying to decide whether to laugh or cry.

It got a little better when he got this fish to play with.

And that was it. It was quick and easy (for the most part).

After:

The curls are still there, just not as out of control!

Thank you Mark!

Finally, they gave Banks this certificate. It is THE cutest thing!

It states that "Banks Johnston has bravely met all of the requirements of receiving his first haircut and has graduated from babyhood on the 4th day of February, 2012."

Ceremonies took place at Treadwell Barber Shop.
