Nursery Preview

The Nursery is ALMOST finished!!!! I have everything we need for the baby so if he comes today, we would be just fine. However, my sister is still working on 2 large paintings that will go over the day bed and I have not done much with the shelves. I am waiting on Leigh Anne to come up and help me finish those, but I couldn't wait any longer to post. So consider this a preview and I will post the final product later. Those of you who know my house, it is mostly neutral colors. Being true to form, I was going to use a neutral theme for the nursery but Bryan put his foot down. He said "the entire house is neutral, I want bright cheerful colors". So, I came back with this fabric and he liked it. Needless to say, it is VERY bright. I still laugh when I go in there because it is just so opposite of what I would normally pick, but I think it turned out great and it will stay with Banks until he is 5 or 6 years old. Thanks Leigh Anne and Mom for helping me with everything! My sister did all of the painting and my Mom made the pillows on the bed and the roman shades. Pat Cook, best seamstress ever, made the rest.

Casey Through the Years

Well, October 7 is Casey's official 10th birthday and I just rounded up some pictures of the old gal and decided to share some of them. They sort of go in order starting with her puppy days. Casey is not the only gal in these pics who looks different....her Mommy was very young in some of these too! I have had so much fun with her over the past 10 years. She really is a pest, but I think I made her like that because I spoiled her so much as a puppy. If I think about it too much, I will get sad because it is very possible that our baby will not remember Casey when he is older. It is hard to believe that she has been with me 10 years and that we might only have a few left. Well on a good note, she is showing NO SIGNS of going anywhere any time soon! She might be gray, but that is about it...she has even started going on walks again now that he heat is better. Okay, I have gone on long enough about her....Happy Birthday Casey!

The days when I had nothing else to do but dress her up for Halloween. How sad! This was 2001, Casey was a Sheriff

The good ole days when they could lay on the bed. This would NEVER happen now. Notice Basil up on the pillows!

Casey's 10th Birthday Party

Today, we celebrated Casey's 10th Birthday! WOW! I can't believe it has been 10 years since I went and picked out the cutest Golden Retriever puppy ever. She has been such a WONDERFUL dog and friend. I know it seems a little silly to do a party for a dog, but we have a baby on the way and I know Casey and Basil might take a bit of a back seat in about 7 weeks so I wanted to do something special for my girl. The kids loved the party and so did the dogs. Casey loved her birthday cake and enjoyed about 3 pieces of it.
