Banks' First Ride in the Jeep

Well, not really. He did not officially ride in it but did sit with Jack and Daniel after they took it for a spin this morning. He was not too sure about it but I am positive that will change very soon.

Bumbo or Booster Seat?

Well, I had to post this picture. It is puzzling on two levels and I do not know which is more disturbing. The fact that Georgia Anne and I used the Bumbo as her booster seat on the ride from my sister's house to my Parent's house (very short distance) or the fact that a first grader can still sit in the Bumbo. Who knows!

Easter Egg Hunt

Today, our Sunday School class had an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. Bryan is out of town at a board review class but Banks and I were able to attend. Now, I know that the little Sir is not able to hunt eggs, but he did have a cute outfit and that was reason enough to stop by.
Me, Banks, Peggy, and Whitney The Easter Bunny stopped by and she had a striking resemblance to Sally Weaver.... Steven, Peggy, and Whitney Laura Ann and Emilyn
The best we could do of the children. Banks did not make the photo since we did not have much faith in any of these little tots to hold him and not crack his head open on the pavement. Oh well, there is always next year!

Atlanta Trip

Last week, I headed to Atlanta for a regional sales meeting. It was sad because I had to leave Banks for the first time overnight, but exciting too because I was able to go visit Sima. I went over early on Thursday so we could have lunch. Sima and I were roommates at Birmingham-Southern for 2 years and the best of friends. She and her husband, Junior, have a 2 year old son, Surya, and a baby due in September. Sima is an eye doctor and owns her own optique. She is so successful at everything she does and I am so proud of her.
So, then I was off to the meeting for 2 days. I will not discuss the boring details but when we adjourned on Friday afternoon, I headed to Candace and Dave's house in East Cobb. Yay!
Candace, Dave, and Caroline
Caroline's 2nd birthday "bunny" party was Saturday. I hated that Bryan, Banks and I were going to miss it but I was very glad to see it all the day before. I must say, Candace had everything looking quite festive. I knew it would be a great party.

Happy Birthday Caroline!!!

Georgie the Gymnast

Georgia Anne has been taking Gymnastics at Auburn Gymnastics Academy for a year and is doing very well. She is so strong and is really good on the bars and beam. She loves going every Wednesday afternoon and hates to miss. My sister and brother-in-law take turns going over to Auburn with her to what Michael calls "the land of the mini-vans" since mini-vans are 90% of the cars in the parking lot at the gym. Ha!! Doesn't she look so cute in her uniform?

Banks' Baptism

On Sunday, March 20, 2011, Banks was Baptized at Canterbury United Methodist Church. It was such a special day for us, as we had many many members of our family in attendance for this momentous day in Banks' life. During the Baptism, I teared up just thinking about how much God has blessed us this year and how much we will strive as parents to raise him to know and love God. Banks is a blessing to our entire family and we are so very grateful for his life and health.

Bryan and I getting Banks ready for the big day. It got off to a bit of a rough start, since we had to wake the Sir up from his nap, but he calmed down after a bottle and was a perfect angel during the service.

4 Months Old

My sweet little Banks is 4 months old today. We went to the doctor this afternoon and here are his stats. 15 pounds, 5 ounces (75%) and 26 1/4 inches long (90%).

Poor Banks, he has a cough, wheezing, and another ear infection. He got a new anti-biotic that will hopefully clear it up soon. He did not have a fever, so he got his 4 month shots. He was a tough little guy. He only made a sad face during the last shot. What a trooper! Dr. Dennis wants to hold out of solid food for a while since he is doing well and gaining weight without it.

At 4 months, Banks can roll over, hold his head up pretty well, and hold his paci in his hand and get it out of his mouth. He can't quite get it back into his mouth yet, but he tries really hard. He still loves his bath and has discovered how to splash. It is so cute but very messy on us. He smiles and coos and is very alert theses days. He still goes to bed around 6:30 p.m. and we wake him up at 10:00 to feed him. In general, he does very well until about 6:00 a.m. but he still gets up about every other night and wants to be soothed or have a couple of ounces of his bottle. All in all, he is a very good baby and he is the light of my life. What did I ever do without him?

Here come the Butlers

My Sister's kids have been on Spring Break this week so today, I took the day off so Banks and I could enjoy the day with them.
Georgie and Jack talking to Banks. Banks did not know what to think of all of the action. He was probably in shock because all his classmates pretty much do the same thing he does..just sit, look, smile, and play. The Butler kids broke him in real good today! Poor Banks!

To say the kids love to bust out of the pillows on my bed is an understatement. Georgia walked in the door and asked "Toe Toe, did you make the bed so I can bust out?" and Jack ran in there and jumped on the bed and asked "Toe Toe, will you bury me?" The pictures are blurry because they bust out at such high speeds, I can't get a good shot of it. Needless to say, it is so funny!
So next we were off to try to snap some pictures of the 4 kids together. That is NOT easy for those of you who have tried it. It is always difficult because there is always......
someone who is being a stinker,
someone who is not happy....or looking at the camera,
someone who is being shy,
someone who is being wild,
someone who is crying,
and someone who is just not having it!
BUT, in the end there are always a few really good ones...even though they are not "perfect"poses, they are real and that is how these precious children look and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Jack
Georgia Anne
The four most beautiful, sweet, and entertaining children I know.
