Beach Trip

We just returned from Rosemary Beach and a great family vacation.  It was our first time staying in Rosemary, thanks to Ricky and Brooke allowing us to stay in their beautiful new beach house!  It is just  about a 2 minute walk to the beach so this is how we did it:

One Baby Bjorn.
One strong Daddy.
One little boy pushing a very large dump truck.
One Mommy pushing all of the other junk in the snap-n-go.

We all had a terrific time on the beach!  Reid, in true form, never cried at all.

Banks was such a young man and well behaved at all of the restaurants.

We hit the pool a few times too.

I wish I could say we made this sand castle, but I would be lying.  Banks was infatuated with it.

All of the fun in the sun made baby brother very very tired.

It has sort of become a tradition for us to stay on the beach one day until sunset.  It is THE BEST time of the day on the beach.  Cooler temps and no worries of a sunburn...oh the beautiful sky.

How sweet!  Banks was doing something to make Reid laugh and it just melted my heart.

It has also become a tradition for us to play mini golf.

I about died laughing.  We get there and Banks goes to our first putt and with the poorest form possible and not even looking where the hole is, he gets a hole in one!

As I mentioned earlier, his form was terrible, which drove Bryan nuts!

This pretty much sums up our restaurant experience:   Me: feeding Reid.   Banks: Mischievous look  and Daddy:  relaxing and enjoying his meal!  Ha!!

We also had beach pics taken by Susi Photography for the second year in a row.  I can't wait to see the proofs and I will share those later.

5 Months

5 months old already?  Goodness, time is flying and he is growing up right before my eyes.

Reid is rolling over and over and over.  He is trying to hold his bottle and is almost there.

He still is a good sleeper has started going to Mother's Day Out 3 mornings a week.

We moved up to a size 3 diaper and they sure do fit better.

Even though it is fall, Reid is still celebrating summer with all of Banks' hand me down 6 month summer bubbles.  Oh well, the weather is warm, right?

All in all, he is a delightful baby!

Dinner Time

3 Babies in the kitchen at dinner time.

One is just hanging out being an angel.

One is being silly and eating meatballs and grapes.

And one is being patient for the left overs.  (oh, and wanting me to think she is mistreated.)

Real Live Construction Site

These 2 best buds had a great morning at Nana Papa's watching some major digger and cement mixer action.

You can't tell by this photo, but they were SO glad to see each other.

While the guys were prepping, Banks and Daniel played with their trucks.

Sweet Reid was out there too, just watching and taking notes for the future.

Banks was excited to say the least.

The cement mixing truck was a little late, so we went in and had lunch.  A little while later, we hear it pull up and they ran to the window to check it out.

The action began rather quickly.

Daniel decided that he would get a better view from the back of the fence.  Pretty smart little boy.

Oh, and as an added bonus this truck came by too.

It was a good day to be 2 and 4.

I will post pics of the finished driveway.  It really is going to look terrific.

First Day of School

It's that most wonderful time of the year....when pre-school starts.

Ahhhh.....

Banks is in the older 2's with Miss Jamie this year.  He did great and went right in to start playing.

Oh, and Yes I did.

This little angel went to school too.

3-9 month room here he comes!

Chick Fil A Kick Off Game

My Mom, Dad, and I headed over to Atlanta Saturday to the Bama game.  It felt like 1985 again.  Me going to the game with my parents.  Something we did every Saturday in the fall when I was little.  We would get up EARLY and head to Tuscaloosa or if the game was at 11:00 we would stay in Hueytown with my Granny or Mamaw and head down to Tuscaloosa in the morning.  We always got a big bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken from the KFC in Alberta City and would park in the lot by the Gorgas House.   My Dad loved to go the his building where he attended classes and would drive us by his apartment.  My Mom loved to tell stories of her Freshman year living in Tutwiler and all of the roaches.

We also attended every game at Legion Field, including the Iron Bowl.  I think I missed every one of Tara's Birthday parties because it always fell on Iron Bowl Day.

Well, we have made some changes to say the least.  I drove for starters.  We did not get any fried chicken.  Leigh Anne stayed behind.  My parents move slower.  Bama played in Atlanta.  I had to pay a babysitter.  Oh, and we had a guy throw up next to us.  I don't quite remember that happening as a child.

It was a fun trip.  We missed you Leigh Anne!

4 Months Old

Our sweet Reid is 4 months old now.  I just can't believe how much he has grown in just 4 short months.  He is changing every day and is a pure joy.

He had his check-up Thursday and here are his stats:

Weight:  14 pounds, 14 ounces  (50%)

Height:  26 inches   (90%)

Head circumference:  44 (90%)

He is still sleeping through the night but a big step this week was the dropping of the 10 p.m. feeding.  So now, he is going strong from 7 pm to 6:30 am.  He is trying to roll over and was 90% there this morning.  He "talks", coos, laughs and watches our every move.  He just could not be sweeter.    I love his "baby chicken feathers" on the top of his head and his chubby legs.  He is still in the hanging out stage and I know that will soon change so I am cherishing every minute.

Girls Night!

Oh how much fun did we have last night?  More than words can say!

Candace, Tara, Whitney, and I got together for a girls night out and it was so wonderful!!  We left behind 9 kids with sitters, Dads, and Grandparents to make it work and it did not disappoint.

We stayed at Tara's beautiful condo on Lake Martin and you know what that means...another excuse to eat at the oh so yummy and trendy SpringHouse.

We had an all out photo session (which I think they family by us got a kick out of) when we arrived, in case you can't tell.

Wouldn't you know it.  I left my lipstick in the car.  WHAT??? This really never happens.  Anyways, when I asked Tara for some she gives me this and look at it..Flat as a board.  Good think she had a back up.  Whew!

The desserts were delicious too.

We battled a monsoon too.  Nothing was going to stop us.  We stayed up until 1:30 a.m. talking.  Today we hung by the pool and later on headed back to our homes to kiss our sweet babies.

All in all, it was a great 24 hours!
