Action Packed Weekend!

As Bryan's big test approaches, Banks and I decided to head to Tallassee for the weekend to let him study, rest, and get some peace and quiet. As usual, we spent most of our time with the Butler Trio...and as always, it was BUSY, very entertaining, and fun.
There was a lot of peek-a-boo playing with Banks....

We played with the train table..
Georgie cleaned the mirrors and windows..

Jack made lunch and fed it to Kitty..
Georgia Anne took her self portrait..
Jack typed on his laptop...
and Daniel typed on his...
We snapped some cute pics of Banks...

The kids rode their cars..
We baked a cake at my parent's house....and enjoyed licking the beaters afterwards..

We went to Georgie's Dance Recital..
Georgia Anne had a "solo" with her friend Emily at the beginning of this number. She is on the left.

Daniel loved on Banks...A LOT!
We made a pot roast for lunch and Banks had his eye on the carrots.....
And he liked them!
Papa got a picture with his boys...
And the weekend would not have been complete without a cruise in the Jeep...

Needless to say, I went to bed at 7:30 on Sunday night and slept 11 hours! It was fun but very tiring.

Happy Mother's Day to Our Moms

Happy Mother's Day, Maxine. You are so dearly missed.

Happy Mother's Day, Mama. I love you so much!

First Cereal

The past few days, Banks has been very hungry. Dr. Dennis had said to wait until 6 months to start cereal, but we decided that tonight, at 5 and 1/2 months of age, we would try some. I got it mixed and sat it on Banks' high chair while Bryan got the video camera ready. Banks was very interested.....
Still Interested....."hmmm..Mom, what is this.....let me see for myself"
First bite...not so bad....
"Okay, this is NOT formula!" We thought he liked it.
He even smiled while he was fussing! But in the end....
We have a LONG way to go. Only about 6 bites and he told us he was DONE!
Oh well, we will keep trying. He will probably like it more mixed with fruit. We will try that in the next few days.

Laura Katherine's Graduation

Yesterday, we went to see Bryan's Sister, Laura Katherine, graduate from Nursing school from the Mississippi University for Women. This is a wonderful accomplishment for LK and we are so proud of her!

Finished Patty Cakes

I finally received Banks' Patty Cakes this week. They turned out just right! He was exactly 2 months old when these were taken.

Mama and I decided they would look good above our night stand and I think they are perfect. I love that I will be able to enjoy them everyday and always remember how tiny and precious his hands and feet were.

Easter Sunday

We celebrated Easter Sunday with Banks, our Church, and my Parents and Granny. The day started off with us heading down to the living room to see what the Easter Bunny had brought Banks.
Banks was wearing his "Jesus Loves Me" onsie from Nana and Papa, which was very appropriate for Easter Sunday.
The Bunny brought him a ducky basket, a train bucket, a bunny, a new bib, some cereal and...
a Jumperoo!!! He LOVES it!

We then went to Church and Banks came in the service with us. He was a perfect angel. It was a very lovely service and we were so glad to have Banks with us. After Church, we went to lunch at The Club with my Parents and Granny.

I hope everyone had a very Happy Easter! I know we did. We all rounded off the afternoon with an hour and half nap!

5 Months Old

On April 23, 2011, Banks was 5 months old. My goodness, where does the time go? He is just getting cuter and more precious every single day. This little boy is just a joy and a blessing in our lives and I love him more then words can express. He is doing so many more "tricks" and it is cute cute cute! He can roll over both ways, grasp everything with his hands, take the paci in and out of his mouth, hold his head up great, put his feet in his mouth (kind of gross, but oh so cute!), coo, laugh out loud, pull his chick down that dangles over his car seat, and almost sit up. We are working very hard on this! He is also sitting forwards in the BOB stroller and not sitting his in infant seat anymore on our walks. He loves to face forward and look around and I am so glad since I drag the poor little Sir on a walk just about every afternoon! Probably the biggest accomplishment of this month has occurred in the crib. We are now "swaddle free" and I can not tell you how scared I was to quit the swaddle, but he was busting out so many times a night that it had to be done. He did great the first night and after about 4 nights, he had it down and has been sleeping through the night! Hallelujah!!!! It is a miracle. He had slept through the night, but it was random and had no consistency. It is now rare that I have to get up with him in the night. He is still in a size 2 diaper but as soon as the 2s are gone, we are going to a size 3. He is now up to 5 oz . every 3 hours and still no solid food. Well, I think that is about it. He smiles a lot but for some reason when he sees the big black scary Rebel, he seems to have a stare down with it!

Banks' Easter Party at School

Friday afternoon, we were able to attend Bank's Easter Party at his school, Canterbury Child Development Center. Attendance was low Friday with only 4 children at school, but we went anyway and it was nice. We took the babies out on a stroll and into the garden of the Church and let them enjoy the fresh air and nice weather.

Going on a stroll with his friends, Ingram, Thomas, and Hamby
Banks has the most wonderful teacher and we are so blessed to have them taking care of him during the day. This is Mrs. Alina and Mrs. Jeanie. They are so kind and loving towards Banks and I just think the world of them.
