Johnston Family Lake Weekend

We had another great year at Lake Martin with Bryan's family.  We didn't take a ton of pictures this year but that does not mean that we didn't have a blast.  These cousins love hanging out together.

North Carolina

Here are some pictures from our recent trip to Highlands, North Carolina.  First, we stopped at Lake Toxaway to visit Bryan's aunt and uncle.    This lake is so beautiful!

Then we headed to Highlands.  We enjoyed stopping off along the way to look at some beautiful scenery.

We arrived in Highlands and went on a small hike to Sunset Rock.  The boys loved it.  

Dinner each night was so yummy and the weather was amazing. 

More hiking the next day for us.

This dinner at Lakeside Restaurant was special because it was our anniversary too.  8 years!!

Fun little trip for our family.  Traveling is getting easier and that is a good thing.  

Williamsburg Trip

In July, Mama, Daddy, Banks, Daniel, and I went to Williamsburg for a few days.  Banks and Daniel are best friends and two peas in a pod, so this little getaway for the two of them was a dream come true.

We arrived and went to the visitor's center to get our plan together.  The boys loved the model of Williamsburg.  

Our hotel had complimentary bikes so the boys and I went on an early morning and HOT bike ride through the little paths and roads.  It was a blast. 

 

They loved exploring "Colonial life" and just hanging out together. 

Laying bricks was a fun activity and they even got to smash the clay with their feet.  YUK!

Yorktown, VA waterfront lunch was so pretty. 

They boys did an archeological dig--the perfect activity for them since they love to dig!

The last day, since it had been 98 degrees all week, I took them to Water Country USA and it was amazing.  Just SO much fun.
