35

Last week, Bryan and I turned 35.  Oh my!  Me, on July 8 and Bryan, on July 10.
My parents had us over Sunday on my birthday for fillets and cupcakes.  Banks loved the candles!

I made Bryan and cake on his big day.  It was super yummy; so good that I had to give the rest to Mary Catherine and Scott to prevent gaining 10 pounds.

Montgomery So Far

Friday morning, June 29 was a whirlwind!  The movers arrived at 7:00 a.m, and by 9:15 we were on the road to Montgomery followed by 2 huge moving trucks.   I can honestly say I have never seen people (7 men) move so quickly.  It was like something out of a movie.

When we go to the house in Montgomery, it was HOT HOT HOT.  The movers had everything unpacked in about 3 hours and they were on their way.

Next the hard part, unpacking.

I must say I was very organized with my packing, so unpacking has not been that bad.

Leigh Anne has been so sweet to come down and help, and thank goodness, these 4 children love Nick Junior!   They also love to run wild, in 4 different directions at once, but overall, we were able to accomplish what we needed.

This position worked pretty well for about an hour......until Banks got loose, then it was every man for himself with the toys.

Banks had his first day of Mother's Day Out Tuesday morning.  It was a special day because Bryan and I were able to both take him and meet his teacher.

He went right in and started playing!  No tears here.

Miss Claire is very sweet and so far, Banks has adjusted well.

We had a very large hiccup on Tuesday, with the passing of my precious pug, Basil.  Needless to say, I spent most of the late afternoon and evening in bed crying.  Maybe one day soon I can do a post of Basil, but I will need a little time.

Wednesday, Independence Day was spent at our new pool at Wynlakes and so far, we are loving "club" life.  I never thought I would ever belong to a country club, but the pool was just to good to pass by.  It has several special areas designed for small children and Banks just has a ball there.

We lucked up on the rental house.  It is very close to the club so we did not even have to leave our house to enjoy the fireworks display.  We just pulled the chairs into the grass and enjoyed the fabulous fireworks show.

The rest of the week was a blur due to unpacking and grieving but I did manage to take the camera outside on Friday morning when Bryan washed my car and Banks played with his water gear.

One thing I LOVE about our house is the FLAT yard and huge shaded driveway.  It is the  perfect spot for Banks to play with his riding toys and his water toys.

Bryan's first day at the hospital is Monday, so it will be my first real week as a full time Mommy.  Wish me luck!  I will post pics of the rental when I get everything put away.

Bahamas

Bryan and I spent 5 days at the Atlantis Resort (Cove) last week and enjoyed R & R, sun, water slides, yummy food, and just some good ole couple time.

Of course, I could not get on the plane without my Xanax and some trash reading.  Lucky for Bryan, the sky was clear and the flight was smooth, so he did not have to talk me off of a ledge!

We got off the elevator and had this view!

And this view from our balcony.

We got changed and hit the beach.  At the Cove, you can enjoy all of the Atlantis amenties, but have the luxury of a private beach and an adults only pool.

Later that night, we headed to Nobu for dinner and it was AMAZING!!

Bryan and I think it was probably one of the best meals we have ever had.  We had such a fun waiter and it was just the perfect way to start off our trip.

We had a great time touring the hotel and taking some of the typical "tourist" photos.

Here are some shots of the adults only pool, a.k.a Club La-Vila meets the Bahamas.  We had lunch there every day, but really could not stay out there much due to the bumping and thumping of the D.J music.   I know, old people are no fun!  I hate we did not get a photo of the black jack, and craps tables adjacent to the bar.  Crazy!

View from our balcony.

The Atlantis has an unbelievable water park.  It has a lazy river that turns into a RAPID, white water rafting river (while you are on your tube) and then turns into a conveyer belt.  You just sit there as it takes you to the top of these awesome water slides and then just keep going on the river.  It also has slides that take you through the middle of the aquarium tanks so you have a 360 degree view of the aquarium.  I really can't describe it except to say it is just SO much fun!

You know it, Bryan had the tri-pod set up for a photo every evening before we went out.

Above, me at the bar waiting for my mojito.

Below, the mojito arrives.....and just as I am taking the first sip......SPLAT!  I drop it and it goes EVERYWHERE!!!!!  All over the bar, all over me, and the floor and my Tory Burch high heal sandals.   Boo hoo!

After that experience, I decided we needed to hit the casino.  It was a blast and we actually won about $130 playing Black Jack.

When I think of a casino, I have visions of old people in scooters gambling their monthly allowance away.   Well, I did not see many scooters, but I did see this lady, just huffing and puffing and playing the heck out that slot machine.

The cruise boats would make a trip by and I was just so glad I was not on one!  One week on a Royal Caribbean with Novo Nordisk did me in for life.

Next stop, Mesa Grill.

We had some great food and being the food lovers we are, we had to take some pictures of our meals.

We decided to hit the casino AGAIN...and we won more money!!

The following night, we went over the the One & Only for dinner at Dune, and yet again, we had a terrific meal.

and....I gave the mojito one more attempt....and this time, no spills!

We did not get as many pictures of the aquarium as we wish we had, but the Atlantis has this huge aquarium full of the most beautiful marine life.
