20 Months

Today was a little overcast in Montgomery, so I decided to head out this afternoon and snap some pictures of Banks.

He is 20 months old.

He had good intentions of cooperating.....

...but would get distracted when he wanted to look for dirt....

...or airplanes...

 ...and more airplanes...

...but they really captured how silly he really is!  What a cutie (in my opinion).

Haircut and Hoops

.
Last week, Banks got his second haircut.  Just as expected, he was not too thrilled about it.  Not even a sucker could make him happy.

Luckily, Kathy was very quick and we were on our way.

Today, we were at Toys "r" Us and I picked up a basketball goal for Banks.  He always loves them when he can play with one.

He was very interested in helping Bryan put it together.

and was very proud of himself every time he (and Daddy) scored.

Thoughts at the Moment

I know so much of my blog documents happy, fun, friends, and cheerful memories.  Those of the times we want to remember, right?  Exactly.  Well, those wonderful memories are exactly what has me so sad these days.  It's not that Montgomery is bad, it is just Birmingham was so good.

So Good.

I just find myself so lost some days just trying to wrap my mind around leaving my entire life for the past 17 years behind.

I miss Canterbury.

I miss our Sunday School class, Dr. Morgan's preaching, and the "comfort" of knowing almost every face.

I miss working.

I miss interacting with people all day.

I miss my work partner and friend, Fleming.

I miss MY Publix on Overton Road, where I knew exactly which isle every food item was on and I knew the cashiers and sweet fellas that would help me to my car.

I miss whipping by my favorite store every week just to "see what is new".

I miss my dear friends in Birmingham.

I miss Overton Park.

I GREATLY miss Canterbury Child Development Center and talking to this dear friend every day.
The absolute favorite part of my day was walking to Banks' classroom and picking up my Sir and then having a 10-15 minute conversation with Jasmin.

I miss my Bunko Group.

I miss Westbury Way and the beautiful hills of Mt. Brook.

And last but not least, I miss my Basil so much it hurts.

I know it will get better, but for right now, that is what I am feeling.

First Sleep Over

On Tuesday night, we had our first overnight guest, Daniel Butler.  It was Daniel's first time to spend the night with a friend, and it was Banks' first time to have "company".  Sweet Daniel has to watch his Sissy and big Brother get invited to do stuff all of the time, so he was SO excited to get to go somewhere by himself.  He was a perfect angel!!!!

(Sorry the pics are not that good, my good camera had no battery power left)

These two LOVE each other so much.  At one point, Banks hit Daniel with a toy and when Daniel got up, I overheard him telling Banks "Banks, you should not do that....I love you SO much"......it really melted my heart.

They had a great time in the bath.

Batman helped Banks get the stool just right to brush his teeth.

After Banks went to bed, Daniel watched the Olympics with Bryan and me for a bit, then fell asleep.

We had to wake Daniel up this morning to head to Tallassee to get Banks' haircut (pics to come).

I joked that Daniel was going for the Olympic Gold Metal in Sleeping.

He insisted on sleeping on Banks' trundle bed in his room and he did SO well, not making a peep all night.

3 Years

of marriage to my wonderful husband, Bryan.

Oh, one of the best days of my life!

Zoo with the Butlers

Yesterday, Leigh Anne and I took all 4 kiddos to the Montgomery Zoo.  We got there when it opened at 9:00 a.m. to try to beat some of this heat.  I must say, the Montgomery Zoo is very nice.  I really like it better than the Birmingham Zoo because I feel like there is more hands on activities for the kids and there is this super cool playground (always a hit with this bunch).

Georgia, Jack, and I got in the wind tunnel and it was literally a blast.

The train is always a huge hit.

Everyone wanted to push Banks' stroller.

Banks loves giraffes.  They have a Giraffe encounter and you can feed them.  The kids really had fun doing this and so did we.

Daniel decided not to participate...just watch.

Even Banks fed the giraffe.  He thought it was super funny.

The 100 degree heat plus humidity does wonders for Banks' hair.

After we left the Zoo, we went to Chick Fil A and look who we ran into......Noah!!  It was such a nice surprise to see our friend.
