Other Activities and New Year's Eve

After Christmas, I thought it would be fun to treat Georgie and Jack to an afternoon out with Toe Toe. We decided to go see the new Chipmunk movie and go out to eat.

The movie was cute (not as cute as the first two) and then we rode around for a while until the Japanese Steakhouse opened.

Georgie order her hot tea, of course.

Next came the much anticipated FLAME and cooking show.

Poor Jack, I think he got a little scared!

Not Sissy, she was loving every minute of it!

Georgie was on the end so she was the last person to get her rice and the chef thought he would play a little trick on her, giving her only this amount of rice.....she thought it was funny!

After we got back to Birmingham, Saturday afternoon, Tara and I took the kids to the zoo. Noah was on a hunting trip with Robby so for the most part, it was Nic, Nate, Banks and us.

Nate just hung out, as usual.

I just love the Lions at the zoo. They are beautiful.

The lion cubs have gotten so big!

We rode the train.

And yay! Whitney and Peggy made it over after Peg woke up from her nap.

Finally, on New Year's Eve, we got together with the Lauren and Joe and Ashley and Darren. It was a wild time with 4 little boys running around playing with trucks and cars. This was our best attempt at a pic. We improvised and set the camera on the timer and placed it on top of the TV. Not bad! We had a great time.

Happy New Year everyone!

Christmas in Vicksburg

We spent Christmas this year with Bryan's family in Vicksburg. We had a nice visit with everyone and enjoyed the company of family.

The fun started on Christmas Eve with a trip down to Lake Bruin to see Les and his family. Les is a friend of Bryan's from Baton Rouge. They met one summer when Bryan was working down there. He and his family are SO nice (even though they had an LSU decorated Christmas tree!) We just could not be so close to them without making a stop by.

Then, we headed to Allyson and Syd's house for a visit with their 3 children.
Banks really enjoyed all of their cool toys.

Sweet cousin Andrew had just celebrated his first birthday on Dec 20th.

Sarah Beth, Andrew, Banks, and Sophie really had a great time playing!

This is the "Johnston Family toy piano" and boy oh boy did Banks really bang it out on the thing. I hope it survived!

Banks enjoyed pretending to drive the car with Daddy while we waited for the family at the cemetery.

We all went to Crawford Street United Methodist for Christmas Eve service. Banks enjoyed the service from the Narthex (anyone surprised??)! Then we all headed over to Jennifer Lynne and Stephen's house for dinner and fun.

Weejie had 4 of his 5 there. Ricky and Brooke came the day after Christmas.

When we got home, we had to leave some cookies out for Santa. Thank you Leigh Anne for the adorable plate.

Santa Came to Vicksburg!!!!

Is all of this for me???? Wow!

Too much fun on my Thomas the Train riding toy.

Oh yeah! I got this real John Deere tractor from Weejie and SuSu! It is so cool!!!!

Now that I am a Johnston, Santa has to "wrap" some of the toys.

We enjoyed a yummy lunch of filets, baked potatoes, and salad.

Jennifer Lynne and Stephen (and baby girl)

It is a Johnston tradition to start a fire and burn the wrapping paper.

Banks was mesmerized by the fire.

Last but not least, Michael with his pups. Max, Sophie, and Big Girl.

13 Months Old

Here are a few pics of Banks at 13 months old.

We got a new Lens, the Tameron 28-75mm/F 2.8 from Weejie and Susan for Christmas and today's weather was perfect for testing it out on Banks. As usual, he was difficult to keep still, so this is the best I could do.

Christmas Pics and Posts to follow!
